Performance Enhancement of the IPMSM for HEV Applications Using Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel and Design Optimization

This paper proposes a method for enhancing the performance of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) using grain-oriented electrical steel (GO) and design optimization. As GO has superior magnetic characteristics in rolling direction, is applied to stator teeth increase torque reduce iron loss IPMSM. However, such approach leads higher saturation on core, resulting worse pulsation characteristics. To handle with problem IPMSM, optimization conducted. In this paper, interpolation multi-objective robust algorithm (IMROA) was proposed. The IMROA can calculation time by interpolating objective region utilizing stepwise sampling strategy. Moreover, considers robustness found solution derive global that manufacturing tolerance deformation during operation prevents unexpected results
